Rāwiri is Pou Tuara for Ngāti Hine Hapu (Te Runanga o Ngāti Ruanui Trust) and Director with Te Atawhai o Te Ao; Independent Māori Institute For Environment Health based in Whanganui.
His professional background and expertise lies in the areas of education, research, Māori project/business management, and governance. Through his role as Director, Rāwiri provides strategic leadership and management, and supports governance. Rāwiri is consistently looking to where Te Atawhai is headed in the future, while supporting the day-to-day operationalisation of how the institute will get there. Rāwiri is passionate about supporting kaupapa that develops communities and focuses this passion in various areas
of Māori development and research work within Aotearoa.
