Te One Kakara
Symposium - April 2021
Te One Kakara is the only Māori research symposium developed and delivered in Taranaki of its kind, this was an intergenerational sharing of knowledge to support kaupapa that are connected to our people, our communities and our environment. The inaugural event organised for the first time in April 2021, involved hapu, iwi media and Taranaki research experts which ensured a well-rounded Kaupapa Māori focused event.
The symposium consisted of individual presentations, panel discussions, and workshops led by Taranaki Māori researchers. Hosted over a 3 day period at Aotearoa Marae, the event was an opportunity for +100 Taranaki researchers to come together as a rohe to look inwards within Taranaki, to focus on and highlight our own research and the incredible work so many Taranaki whanau are contributing to in the area of research and development.
Te One Kakara looks to repeat its success again 24 - 26 July 2022.
